Sunday porch montage

This is going to sound like I'm getting paid for a plug, but I did this in less than 15 minutes in Picasa. It has a collage function that's very easy to use. Hope everyone had a good weekend and relaxing Sunday.

Little finger-chompin' lamb

Henry's new trick is vocalizing one syllable and repeating it over and over. His go-to at this point is "Baaa," so he does sound like a little sheep when he gets going. His other trick is taking hold of one of your fingers and chomping his gums down on it in what can be kinda painful. It leads us to believe he might be starting to have some teeth come in, but no sight of them yet.

The weather has cooperated lately for evening walks, which is quite enjoyable. Except for one time when I didn't have him situated right in the carrier, Henry invariably settles down and enjoys seeing the neighborhood. It hasn't been too hot yet, but we can already tell that 20+ pounds of hot baby sucked up against you makes for two sweaty people. I think we'll look into getting one of the backpack-style carriers for the sake of not sweating too much during summer strolls.

He's also been really eyeing food more and more lately. We've offered him a piece of mushed up avocado, but it was as though he had no idea what to do with that. We don't want to rush into food, especially since he needs to be able to sit upright to do so. He can mostly do that now, but he does this barely-controlled rhythmic swaying that might not work out so well in a high chair.

As far as us, we're just gearing up for what will hopefully be a long run into the playoffs for the Penguins and what will almost certainly be a losing season for the Pirates. Case in point - in their last series with the Brewers, they lost three games by a combined score of 36-1. Just in case you were wondering, no team has lost that well since the early 19th century. Ummm...let's go Bucs?

Jumperoo!

So, our general parenting philosophy so far has included limiting the amount of "stuff" we accumulate. That being said, we just purchased this giant hunk of plastic because we thought it would entertain our little guy, and boy does it. It also allows me a solid fifteen minutes of hands-free time, which is pretty great.

The only problem - the little dirty toe marks on his PJs that show our poor housekeeping.

We'll work on that.
